Update from Pastor for December 9, 2020 Dear friends, There are a number of things going on today that warrant a quick note to all of you. Here they are in order of what comes out of my head at the time: HCAP with No Audio So some of you may have had trouble with Holy Cross at Prayer on YouTube this morning. My apologies. If you couldn’t get the sound to work, I recorded it again: HCAP for December 9, 2020 (with Audio) Advent Meditation tonight on Zoom This evening we will have the second of our meditations on the Song of Advent. Tonight we will specifically be looking at the Visitation from Luke 1:39-45. Here’s the link: Zoom Link to Advent Meditation for December 9 What about Sunday Services with the Shelter-in-place Order? Many of you have probably also see that the Sacramento region has dropped under 15% ICU beds. This means that as of midnight on December 10, we will be in the full shelter-in-place guidelines. HOWEVER, two of the categories of exceptions affect us: Pre-K and Kindergartens (and all schools) continue with whatever in-person levels they had before. And Churches may continue to have outdoor services. What this means for us is that Holy Cross Lutheran Academy can still operate as they have been doing. It also means that we may continue to do our outdoor services. To that end, here is the link for the registration for this coming Sunday: Link for Registration for Sunday, December 13 at 11:00 a.m. OUTDOORS and IN-PERSON From my perspective, the outdoor service went very well last week. It was in the upper 50s, We currently are at 50/50 on whether we will be able to have service in-person on Sunday, as there is a chance of rain. We will make the call for that no later than Saturday evening. Stay tuned, watch your email and the church web site, and we’ll let you know what it looks like! If you believe you will be attending Sunday, please register. God bless you all. In Christ, Pastor Peperkorn |
