WEDNESDAY (September 9, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“…where two or three are gathered in my name, there am I among them.”” (Matthew 18:20)

Reading
“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law. For the commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not murder, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.” (Romans 13:8–10)

Meditation
Love is God. God completely looks to us and to our good. All of the commandments are an expression of that love. This is why the fulfilling of the law happened at the cross. It is there that God’s love is given its fullest expression. God’s love is for you, and God’s love moves through you in care of your neighbor. That is how God works in the world.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Sarah this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
O God, from whom all good proceeds, grant to us, Your humble servants, Your holy inspiration, that we may set our minds on the things that are right and, by Your merciful guiding, accomplish them; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
