HCAP for September 3, 2020

THURSDAY (September 3, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15:16)

Reading
“Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse them. Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight.” (Romans 12:14–16)

Meditation
By nature we all think ourselves above those around us. But St. Paul calls us to think of others before ourselves, and to care for those around us. By doing this, we reflect the love of Christ upon our neighbor. Wisdom from God means seeing things from the perspective of others. Look through the eyes of those in need, for there you will see God’s grace at work.

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Show your grace to Mary this day, as she goes about the callings you have given to her. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, Your Son willingly endured the agony and shame of the cross for our redemption. Grant us courage to take up our cross daily and follow Him wherever He leads; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
