HCAP for September 22, 2020

TUESDAY (September 22, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

Reading
“One thing have I asked of the Lord, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to inquire in his temple. For he will hide me in his shelter in the day of trouble; he will conceal me under the cover of his tent; he will lift me high upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:4-5)

Meditation
God is present with His people each week as we gather around His Word and sacraments. He is present in His beauty which is shown through His steadfast love and mercy. He shelters and protects us by giving us His Son Jesus whose gifts are eternal and freely given. Fear not. The Lord is here. Now and always.

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Samuel (Hull) this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.

Prayer of the Week
Lord God, heavenly Father, since we cannot stand before You relying on anything we have done, help us trust in Your abiding grace and live according to Your Word; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
