SATURDAY (September 19, 2020
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy…” (Psalm 103:2-4)

Reading
“Then Peter came up and said to him, ‘Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times. (Matthew 18:21-22)

Meditation
Forgiveness can be difficult. Oh, yes, we want to be forgiven of our sins and faults, but it can be so tempting to hold something over another person. And, what about that person who “keeps on sinning”? How does that work? Jesus responds by saying that forgiveness has no limits. In Christ and with His help, we learn to forgive one another, just as Christ has forgiven us.

Prayer of the Week
O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all godliness, hear the devout prayers of Your Church, especially in times of persecution, and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
