WEDNESDAY (September 16, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy…” (Psalm 103:2-4)

Reading
“The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He will not always chide, nor will he keep his anger forever. He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our transgressions from us.” (Psalm 103:6-12)

Meditation
God is a God of great compassion and mercy. He does not deal with us as we deserve, which would result in punishment and death. No, God gives us Himself and His forgiveness. This forgiveness is spoken, granted and complete. There is no sin, when repented, that God will hold against us. Once a sin is forgiven, it is gone. God’s steadfast love removes our stain and sin. Christ’s blood washes us clean.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Macy this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week
O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all godliness, hear the devout prayers of Your Church, especially in times of persecution, and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
