HCAP for September 15, 2020

TUESDAY (September 15, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy…” (Psalm 103:2-4)

Reading
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,
who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy, who satisfies you with good so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.” (Psalm 103:1-5)

Meditation
God is a God to be praised. The greatest gift we can offer God is our praise and thanksgiving. This is what it means to “bless the Lord”. Our entire being praises God: body, mind and spirit. For God is a God who loves us, heals us and forgives us, not because of anything worthy in us, but purely because He loves us. For this we “bless God”.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Phyllis this week. Give her your grace and teach her to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.

Prayer of the Week
O God, our refuge and strength, the author of all godliness, hear the devout prayers of Your Church, especially in times of persecution, and grant that what we ask in faith we may obtain; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
