HCAP for September 1, 2020

TUESDAY (September 1, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Your words were found, and I ate them, and your words became to me a joy and the delight of my heart, for I am called by your name, O LORD, God of hosts.” (Jeremiah 15:16)

Reading
“And I will make you to this people a fortified wall of bronze; they will fight against you, but they shall not prevail over you, for I am with you to save you and deliver you, declares the LORD. I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked, and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.”” (Jeremiah 15:20–21)

Meditation
When the Lord is on our side, no one and nothing can prevail against us. That is God’s promise to us. Yes, there will be strife and struggle. Yes, there will be trouble in this life. But God promises deliverance and redemption from all our enemies. In fact, He has already delivered us though the death and resurrection of Jesus.

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Andrew this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, Your Son willingly endured the agony and shame of the cross for our redemption. Grant us courage to take up our cross daily and follow Him wherever He leads; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
