TUESDAY (October 20, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“I am the LORD, and there is no other, besides me there is no God.” (Isaiah 45:5)
Reading
“We give thanks to God always for all of you, constantly mentioning you in our prayers, remembering before our God and Father your work of faith and labor of love and steadfastness of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers loved by God, that he has chosen you, because our gospel came to you not only in word, but also in power and in the Holy Spirit and with full conviction.” (1 Thessalonians 1:2–5)
Meditation
Faith, hope and love. These are the gifts the Holy Spirit has given to each one of us individually and collectively as the Church. Fads and gimmicks come and go, but faith, hope and love are, enduring and interwoven. They form the basis of the Church and our life together. One day, faith and hope will come to their completion, and love will remain as we stand face to face with Christ in heaven.
Silence
Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Amanda this week. Give her your grace and teach her to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.
Prayer of the Week
O God, the protector of all who trust in You, have mercy on us that with You as our ruler and guide we may so pass through things temporal that we lose not the things eternal; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
