TUESDAY (October 13, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“…the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)
Reading
“Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:4–7)
Meditation
God’s peace is what gives us peace. Peace is not something we manufacture or will ourselves to obtain. God’s peace is a mystery—it surpasses all understanding. But this peace guards and protects our hearts and our minds in Christ. Christ is our refuge and strength. In Him we rest.

Lord Jesus Christ, be with Howard this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.
Prayer of the Week
Almighty God, You invite us to trust in You for our salvation. Deal with us not in the severity of Your judgment but by the greatness of Your mercy; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.
