WEDNESDAY (November 4, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are.” (1 John 3:1)
Reading
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.” (1 John 3:1–3)
Meditation
Through the waters of Baptism, we are made children of God. We are given new life, simply because God loves us. It’s that simple. God’s love goes beyond the foundations of the earth, farther than the East is from the West. He calls us by name, redeems us and continues to shower His love upon us, so that we have this life forever.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Bridget this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Week
Merciful and gracious Lord, You cause Your Word to be proclaimed in every generation. Stir up our hearts and minds by Your Holy Spirit that we may receive this proclamation with humility and finally be exalted at the coming of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
