SATURDAY (November 14, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’” (Matthew 25:6)
Reading
“And while they were going to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the marriage feast, and the door was shut. Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, ‘Lord, lord, open to us.’ But he answered, ‘Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.’ Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” (Matthew 25:10–13)
Meditation
Harsh words here, “Truly, I say to you, I do not know you.” Oh, the depth of pain and desolation those words will cause to those who have fallen away. Jesus comes to us with His gifts of Love. He comes to us, week in and week out, in the Divine Service to deliver His gifts. He doesn’t hold back. In fact He delights in lavishing us with His love, His forgiveness, His mercy and His protection. All we need to do is avail ourselves of these gifts. So, come, hear the Words of life, be fed at the Lord’s Table.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Lord God, heavenly Father, send forth Your Son to lead home His bride, the Church, that with all the company of the redeemed we may finally enter into His eternal wedding feast; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
