HCAP for November 12, 2020

THURSDAY (November 12, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“But at midnight there was a cry, ‘Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.’” (Matthew 25:6)

Reading
““Then the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. Five of them were foolish, and five were wise. For when the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them, but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.” (Matthew 25:1–4)

Meditation
The Bible is full of wedding talk, from the first wedding of Adam and Eve to being prepared at the end times. Christ is the bridegroom, and we, the Church, His bride. In this case, the virgins are the members of the Church. Do we know whose we are? Do we live out our lives in Christ or have we wandered away? Do we come to the place where the gifts of forgiveness, life and salvation are given or do we put going to church on the back burner. Faith is a gift to be cherished and nourished, so come, receive the gifts.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Show your grace to Riley this day, as she goes about the callings you have given to her. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Lord God, heavenly Father, send forth Your Son to lead home His bride, the Church, that with all the company of the redeemed we may finally enter into His eternal wedding feast; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
