SUNDAY (May 24, 2020)
Seventh Sunday of Easter
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.” (John 17:11)

Reading
“Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey away. And when they had entered, they went up to the upper room, where they were staying, Peter and John and James and Andrew, Philip and Thomas, Bartholomew and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot and Judas the son of James. All these with one accord were devoting themselves to prayer, together with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and his brothers.” (Acts 1:12–14)

Meditation
It is right after Jesus ascended into heaven. They have returned to Jerusalem. What next? How would Christ’s Church move forward in His name? They moved forward by prayer. They were of one accord because they heard His Word together, and together they prayed. The men and the women, greatest to the least, the mother of Jesus to the apostles. They were all together in prayer. May our unity ever be found by uniting around the word and promises of Christ for us.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Let your grace be upon Maddox, O Lord, and teach her to hope in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week
O King of glory, Lord of hosts, uplifted in triumph far above all heavens, leave us not without consolation but send us the Spirit of truth whom You promised from the Father; for You live and reign with Him and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
