HCAP for May 23, 2020

SATURDAY (May 23, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Baptism…now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” (1 Peter 3:21)

Reading
““I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. Yet a little while and the world will see me no more, but you will see me. Because I live, you also will live. In that day you will know that I am in my Father, and you in me, and I in you. Whoever has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him.”” (John 14:18–21)

Meditation
God will not leave us to fend for ourselves. We could never do it. It would be a mess from start to finish. But God does not leave us orphans, without father or mother. After all, God is our Father, and He is the one who gives us to His bride, His Church, to mother us and care for us all the days of our lives. Thank God that He continues to give Himself to us here, in the bosom of His Church!
