HCAP for May 22, 2020

FRIDAY (May 22, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Baptism…now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ,” (1 Peter 3:21)

Reading
““If you love me, you will keep my commandments. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper, to be with you forever, even the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him nor knows him. You know him, for he dwells with you and will be in you.” (John 14:15–17)

Meditation
The Helper is the Holy Spirit. He dwells in you because you are Baptized into Christ. It is only through Him that we are able to keep His commandments. But in Him, we do keep them. The world cannot see or understand or know this, but it does not matter. It is true because of Christ’s great work for us.
