HCAP for March 9, 2021

TUESDAY (March 9, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 1:18–19)

Reading
““Honor your father and your mother, that your days may be long in the land that the LORD your God is giving you. “You shall not murder. “You shall not commit adultery. “You shall not steal. “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor. “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor’s.”” (Exodus 20:12–17)

Meditation
Our relationship to God shapes our relationship to each other. Honoring parents, life, the body, property, a good name, even our desires come into how we look at our neighbor. Christ takes all of these commandments into Himself and keeps them, because we cannot. He is the one to restore our relationship to God the Father, and only He can do it.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Freya this week. Give her your grace and teach her to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
O God, whose glory it is always to have mercy, be gracious to all who have gone astray from Your ways and bring them again with penitent hearts and steadfast faith to embrace and hold fast the unchangeable truth of Your Word; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
