TUESDAY (March 23, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
“For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”” (Jeremiah 31:34b)
“For every high priest chosen from among men is appointed to act on behalf of men in relation to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins. He can deal gently with the ignorant and wayward, since he himself is beset with weakness. Because of this he is obligated to offer sacrifice for his own sins just as he does for those of the people. And no one takes this honor for himself, but only when called by God, just as Aaron was.” (Hebrews 5:1–4)
A priest is called by God. No one calls themselves. They are called by God. And the priests of the Old Testament could sympathize with the weaknesses of the people, because they themselves were weak. But Christ Jesus sympathizes with us because He is human, not because He is sinful.
Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Kirtus this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, by Your great goodness mercifully look upon Your people that we may be governed and preserved evermore in body and soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
