HCAP for March 21, 2021

SUNDAY (March 21, 2021)
The Fifth Sunday in Lent
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.”” (Jeremiah 31:34b)

Reading
““Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” (Jeremiah 31:31–33)

Meditation
“I will be their God,” says the Lord. He will place His covenant upon our hearts, and this new covenant will be centered in Jesus Christ and Him crucified. God commits Himself utterly to us in His Son, and promises that He will always be with us, for He is always our God.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Let your grace be upon Pat, O Lord, and teach her to hope in the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week
Almighty God, by Your great goodness mercifully look upon Your people that we may be governed and preserved evermore in body and soul; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
