HCAP for March 18, 2021

THURSDAY (March 18, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
““For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:15–17)

Reading
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:14–16 ESV, alt.)

Meditation
God loved the world in this way, that He gave His only-begotten son. God demonstrates His love to us by delivering His one and only Son over to death and the grave, so that when we die, it will never be the end of our story, but only a chapter that continues through new life in Him.

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Show your grace to Marian this day, as she goes about the callings you have given to her. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, our heavenly Father, Your mercies are new every morning; and though we deserve only punishment, You receive us as Your children and provide for all our needs of body and soul. Grant that we may heartily acknowledge Your merciful goodness, give thanks for all Your benefits, and serve You in willing obedience; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
