HCAP for June 13, 2020

Holy Cross at Prayer June 13, 2020

SATURDAY (June 13, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“…behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:20b)

Reading
“Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”” (Matthew 28:16–20)

Meditation
Jesus, the creator, comes to redeem His creation. Baptism is the Church’s outpouring of the Holy Spirit. It is where the One who loves us and created us marks us as His own. As the triune name is traced upon our foreheads and chest, we bear the name of Christ. In fact, we now bear, in our bodies, Christ’s Body, and thus become incorporated into the Body of Christ, His Church.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
O Lord, in Holy Baptism you put your Name upon Richard. Bless him now with the forgiveness of sins and a firm trust in you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty and everlasting God, You have given us grace to acknowledge the glory of the eternal Trinity by the confession of a true faith and to worship the Unity in the power of the Divine Majesty. Keep us steadfast in this faith and defend us from all adversities; for You, O Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, live and reign, one God, now and forever.
