TUESDAY (July 7, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28)

Reading
“So I find it to be a law that when I want to do right, evil lies close at hand. For I delight in the law of God, in my inner being, but I see in my members another law waging war against the law of my mind and making me captive to the law of sin that dwells in my members. Wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death? Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself serve the law of God with my mind, but with my flesh I serve the law of sin.” (Romans 7:21–25)

Meditation
Christ is our deliverer. He who knew no sin, became sin for us so that we might have freedom in Him. By His wounded hands, feet and side, we are delivered. By His pummeled and torn flesh, we are redeemed. There is no need to fear the great deceiver. Christ is victorious over sin, death and the devil. Let us look to Christ for deliverance and for healing.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Gary this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Gracious God, our heavenly Father, Your mercy attends us all our days. Be our strength and support amid the wearisome changes of this world, and at life’s end grant us Your promised rest and the full joys of Your salvation; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
