Holy Cross at Prayer – July 29, 2020

WEDNESDAY (July 29, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. “ (Romans 8:28)

Reading
“No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 8:36–39)

Meditation
When the trials of this world overwhelm us, we are left weak and fragile, often feeling isolated and alone. St. Paul words reassure us that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. NOTHING. Not cancer, not depression, not guilt, not shame, not even death, can put a wedge between us and the love God has for us.

Silence

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Jessica this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty and everlasting God, give us an increase of faith, hope, and love, that, receiving what You have promised, we may love what You have commanded; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
