WEDNESDAY (July 15, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. “ (Psalm 65:9)
Reading
“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him.” (Romans 8:15–17)
Meditation
The Holy Spirit gives us the gift of faith—the trust to open up and receive the gracious gifts given to us by Christ. With Christ as our brother, we are co-heirs of the kingdom. We get all of Christ—love, mercy, peace, forgiveness—and, oh yes, suffering too. We enter into Christ’s suffering, and suffer with Him. But He does not leave us alone to suffer. No, He who has suffered all for our sakes, suffers with us and for us. This suffering is a deep mystery.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Michele this day, O Lord, and show her your great love throughout all the days of her life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Blessed Lord, since You have caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may so hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
