MONDAY (July 13, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“You visit the earth and water it; you greatly enrich it; the river of God is full of water; you provide their grain, for so you have prepared it. “ (Psalm 65:9)

Reading
““For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands. Instead of the thorn shall come up the cypress; instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle; and it shall make a name for the LORD, an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.”” (Isaiah 55:12–13)

Meditation
Joy, peace, singing, clapping are all signs of restoration. God is bringing His people home to Him. The suffering servant, Jesus comes to restore His creation. He comes to bring joy in the midst of sorrow; peace where there has been brokenness and separation; singing where there has been only dirges; clapping where arms were bent with heavy loads. Jesus, mercy incarnate, comes to bring new life and hope so that even creation speaks of His greatness.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Blessed Lord, since You have caused all Holy Scriptures to be written for our learning, grant that we may so hear them, read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest them that we may embrace and ever hold fast the blessed hope of everlasting life; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
