“Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the God of gods, for his steadfast love endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord of lords, for his steadfast love endures forever;” (Psalms 136:1–3)
Meditation
Psalm 136 speaks of the three fold name of God. It echoes the Aaronic blessing Moses spoke:
The Lord bless you and keep you;
The Lord make his face to shine upon you
And be gracious unto you;
The Lord lift up his countenance upon you
And give you peace. (Numbers 6:24-26)
For all God has done for us, we give thanks. For His steadfastness, His goodness and His enduring love, we give thanks.

O Lord, in Holy Baptism you put your Name upon Lily. Bless her now with the forgiveness of sins and a firm trust in you. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Heavenly Father, though we do not deserve Your goodness, still You provide for all our needs of body and soul. Grant us Your Holy Spirit that we may acknowledge Your gifts, give thanks for all Your benefits, and serve You in willing obedience; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
