HCAP for August 10, 2020

MONDAY (August 10, 2020)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Gospel Sentence
“…Immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take heart; it is I. Do not be afraid.”” (Matthew 14:27)

Reading
““Or who shut in the sea with doors when it burst out from the womb, when I made clouds its garment and thick darkness its swaddling band, and prescribed limits for it and set bars and doors, and said, ‘Thus far shall you come, and no farther, and here shall your proud waves be stayed’?” (Job 38:8–11)

Meditation
God uses the most beautiful, poetic language to describe His powers of creation. He is the One who made the sea and all that is in it, the heavens and the earth. He has set His measuring line and contained the seas, containing the heavens and the earth. He is the sovereign One who creates and rules over all. There is nothing God cannot do. There is nothing that escapes the attention of God, even though it might seem that way at times. He who created the heavens and the earth, continues to care for His creation.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Heavenly Father, bless Stephen with faith in you and fervent love toward all those who cross his path this day. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.

Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty and most merciful God, preserve us from all harm and danger that we, being ready in both body and soul, may cheerfully accomplish what You want done; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
