HCAP for April 27, 2020

MONDAY (April 27, 2020) Holy Cross at Prayer

In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

GOSPEL SENTENCE
“And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to
them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.” (Luke 24:27)
READING
“And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in
the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will
receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. For the promise is for you and for
your children and for all who are far off, everyone whom the Lord our
God calls to himself.” And with many other words he bore witness and
continued to exhort them, saying, “Save yourselves from this crooked
generation.” So those who received his word were baptized, and there
were added that day about three thousand souls.” (Acts 2:37–41)
MEDITATION
God’s remedy for our sin is Jesus. In our baptism, we are buried with
Christ into His death, and we are raised with Him in His resurrection. In
baptism we get Christ—all of Him. In baptism we receive the Holy
Spirit. In baptism we are reconciled with The Father. Baptized into the
name of Jesus Christ we receive the gifts of forgiveness of sins, life
eternal, and rescue from sin, death and the devil.

PRAYER FOR HOLY CROSS MEMBER
Heavenly Father, bless Michael (Fintel, Jr.) with faith in you and fervent
love toward all those who cross his path this day. Through Jesus Christ,
our Lord. Amen.
PRAYER OF THE WEEK (FROM SUNDAY)
O God, through the humiliation of Your Son You raised up the fallen
world. Grant to Your faithful people, rescued from the peril of
everlasting death, perpetual gladness and eternal joys; through Jesus
Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one
God, now and forever.
