WEDNESDAY (April 21, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”” (Luke 24:36)
Reading
“Everyone who makes a practice of sinning also practices lawlessness; sin is lawlessness. You know that he appeared in order to take away sins, and in him there is no sin. No one who abides in him keeps on sinning; no one who keeps on sinning has either seen him or known him. Little children, let no one deceive you. Whoever practices righteousness is righteous, as he is righteous.” (1 John 3:4–7)
Meditation
Our sin grieves God. Our sin pricks our conscience and causes guilt which in turn drives us to our knees, saying “Lord be merciful to me a sinner”. Left to our own devices, sin would rule over us. But, God in His compassion gives us a way out. God gives us Jesus—mercy incarnate— so that we might be freed from the weight and consequences of sin and death. We live in Christ and He in us. He is our identity.

Be with Logan this day, O Lord, and show him your great love throughout all the days of his life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
O God, through the humiliation of Your Son You raised up the fallen world. Grant to Your faithful people, rescued from the peril of everlasting death, perpetual gladness and eternal joys; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
