TUESDAY (April 20, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”” (Luke 24:36)
Reading
“See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him, because we shall see him as he is. And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.” (1 John 3:1–3)
Meditation
God lavishes His love, mercy and forgiveness on us, not because of anything we do, but because of who God is. God is love. God’s essence is Divine Love. He calls us, gives us faith, makes us His own through the purifying waters of baptism. We are His and He lives in us. He gives us Himself in the feast of Holy Communion where we receive His ongoing gifts each week. Strengthened by His Love, we are thus able to serve one another in love.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with Lucy this week. Give her your grace and teach her to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
O God, through the humiliation of Your Son You raised up the fallen world. Grant to Your faithful people, rescued from the peril of everlasting death, perpetual gladness and eternal joys; through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
