WEDNESDAY (April 14, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Gospel Sentence
“…these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
Reading
“My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:1–2)
Meditation
This side of heaven, we are going to sin. That is a fact. And, as the dearly beloved and baptized, we have an advocate. We have a mediator in Jesus Christ. When God looks at us, He sees Jesus, the righteous One. Jesus makes all things right between us and the Father. Jesus is also the propitiation—He is the satisfaction, the payment, for the demands of God’s law and wrath. He who knew no sin became sin for us. He did what we were unable to do. Jesus is the way—the way of forgiveness and peace.

Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Be with Lee this day, O Lord, and show him your great love throughout all the days of his life. Through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, grant that we who have celebrated the Lord’s resurrection may by Your grace confess in our life and conversation that Jesus is Lord and God; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
