TUESDAY (April 13, 2021)
In the name of the Father and of the + Son and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
“…these are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.” (John 20:31)
“This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:5–10)
Knowing who were are: Poor miserable sinners; beggars before God.
Knowing who God is: The throne of Love, Light and Truth.
Knowing this sort of levels the playing field. There is no hierarchy on earth. We are all broken. We are all poor miserable sinners in need of forgiveness and love. God is the giver of all good gifts. Let God be God.
Prayer for Holy Cross Member
Lord Jesus Christ, be with George this week. Give him your grace and teach him to learn more of your mercy with each passing day. Amen.
Prayer of the Week (from Sunday)
Almighty God, grant that we who have celebrated the Lord’s resurrection may by Your grace confess in our life and conversation that Jesus is Lord and God; through the same Jesus Christ, Your Son, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
