Christmas

The Annunciation – by Far Angelico

Christmas is one of the two highlights of the Christian Year, with the other being Holy Week and Easter. Christmas is the time that we commemorate our Lord’s Coming in the womb of Mary, born in the little town of Bethlehem.

But as we all know, this year has not been an easy one for so many of us. We need Christmas now more than ever. I hope you will make every effort to join us, as we worship the one who still comes to us by His Word and Spirit.

We will be having two services on Christmas Eve/Day. They are as follows:

Christmas Eve Lessons and Carols

A Lessons & Carols service is one we are borrowing from our friends across the pond in England. It is a service with readings, prayers, carols and hymns that confess who Jesus is, and what it means for Him to come to us in His own flesh and blood. Our outdoor service was led in part by our wonderful brass ensemble, directed by Allison Yee. We also pre-recorded a service for those who were unable to join us outdoors.

Christmas Day Festival Divine Service

This service is, for us, the chief service of Christmas. It is a full divine service with Word and Sacrament, where we rejoice in the solemnity and wonder of our God who was made flesh for us. This service was led in part by our wonderful brass ensemble, directed by Allison Yee.
